Search for “Grotta di San Giovanni d’Antro” (Pulfero). The cave is a short walk along a signposted woodland trail (less than half a mile) from the car park/drop-off area.

the cave is open to the public every Sunday, for guided tours only.
Guided tours run at: 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm. Booking is strongly recommended for guided tours on Sundays as places are limited. Please arrive promptly.
Guided tours can include church and cave (tourist-naturalistic route), or be limited to the church only (prayer area and up to the exhibition area).

From Monday to Saturday the cave is closed
the cave is open for guided tours only (booking essential).
Guided tours can be booked every day for groups of 8-30 paying visitors.
Recommended visiting times: 10 am to 2 pm.
It is preferable to book on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Please book at least a week in advance.
Guided tours include an explanation of the art and history of both the church and the site itself.

IMPORTANT PRACTICAL INFORMATION
- Duration of the visit: 1 hour.
- Meeting point for guided tours: at the bottom of the steps leading up to the cave.
- The cave can be reached with an easy path 500 meters long. There are 86 stone steps to climb to access the cave.
- The tourist-naturalistic rout in the cave is about 300 meters long (one way).
- You must be accompanied by a guide to visit the site.
- Please wear non-slip footwear.
- Temperature in the cave: 11 degrees.
- We recommend bringing a sweatshirt or light jacket.
- This is a sacred site. Animals are not allowed in the cave. The only exceptions are small pets you can carry.
- Access in not recommended for people with walking problems, motor difficulties or claustrophobic.
